Yup, that’s country music star Blake Shelton, and he’s a part of Smithworks Vodka. Join us this Friday when we’ll be tasting this vodka made with corn from Kansas, Missouri and Oklahoma and water from Lake Fort Smith. Distilled three times and charcoal filtered for a smooth taste and clean finish,  Smithworks is finished and bottled with pride in Fort Smith, Arkansas.

Starting at 4 PM we’ll kick off the tasting with our great hometown Kansas City beer maker Crane Brewing Co. who’s bringing their new Grapefruit Gose for you to sample.

shacksbury cidersJoining in at 5 PM will be SHACKSBURY CIDERS tasting their:

BASQUE CIDER – extra dry, unfiltered, with a funky, grapefruit rind, spice and apple cellar muskiness. Made in collaboration with Ainara Otaño of Petritegi Sagardoa in Astigarraga, Spain.

FARMHOUSE CIDER – Sparkling, light bodied, refreshing, and dry. Lightly barrel aged and inspired by saison beer and rosé wine.

CLASSIC CIDER – Bold, earthy, lightly sparkling, and dry. Aged for six months in stainless steel.

scarpetta-spumante-roseAnd for the wines, we’ll be tasting red, white and rose from SCARPETTA WINES from the Friuli region of Italy:

Scarpetta Timido Brut Rose –  It’s bright, with flavors of cherry and strawberry, soft dose of minerality and a late brush of herbs. The bubbles are soft and delicate, the acidity is very well balanced, and the finish is very crisp and clean.

Scarpetta Pinot GrigioDry and crisp, with just the right amount of acidity, flavors of stone fruits, lavender, honey, lime, melon, pear, white flowers, and minerals make this Pinot Grigio extremely refreshing.

Scarpetta Barbera – A medium bodied red wine with low tannins but bright acidity, giving a wonderful balance to its crushed berries and plums flavors.
