Join us this Friday for a little end-of-Summer-vacation tasting that features some adult beverages you can enjoy year-round. We’ll start off with some excellent craft beers  from Columbia, Missouri brewing company Bur Oak Brewing:

Boone County Brown Ale – a rich brown porter style beer that is surprisingly easy to drink with a remarkably smooth finish. Leaving behind notes of dark chocolate and roasted coffee. With a full bodied caramel backdrop,

Trail Bender – blends the flavors of an American Wheat Beer with a German Kolsch ale and a light citrus flavor. The result, a light and refreshing beer, reminiscent of your favorite German lager.

Sacred Sun Saison – Belgian style saison ale has a crisp and refreshing taste with a slightly tart and citrusy aftertaste. It’s easily enjoyed and pleasantly refreshing.

smithworks

Along with the beers,  we’ll be hosting Smithworks Vodka again after doing so well with their tastings before. Made with corn from Kansas, Missouri and Oklahoma and water from Lake Fort Smith.

Distilled three times and charcoal filtered for a smooth taste and clean finish,  Smithworks is finished and bottled with pride in Fort Smith, Arkansas. And yes, this is the vodka company that country music superstar Blake Shelton is part owner of.

And for the wines, our rep from A Bommarito will be bringing five varieties for you to sample from:

Flor Prosecco – Flor offers all of the crisp freshness and elegance expected of a great Prosecco. When enjoyed it releases wonderful aromas of ripe pear, melon, a hint of lilies and almonds and smoothly fills the palate with flavors of golden delicious apples and peaches.

Quivira Sauvignon Blanc – with a score of 89 from Wine Spectator, this easy-drinking wine is round and plump, yet finishes with cleansing acidity. Notes of herbs and some signature grassiness are apparent on entry, flowing into flavors of tropical fruits, lime and gooseberries.

Rickshaw Pinot Noir – this Pinot flashes a whole range of berry flavors from wild blackberry to blueberry to Rainier cherry. This blend of fruit rides atop notes of wet earth, black tea and warm Indian spice notes. The finish is bright and long lasting.

Toad Hollow Rose – with a core of 87 from Wine Spectator, this gorgeous cameo pink colored Rose shows beautiful aromas of fresh cut watermelon and light mango with a delicately fruity palate of wild strawberry and dark cherry. Depth of flavors and crisp acidity create a mouth-watering sensation.

Amalaya MalbecAmalaya Malbec – with a score of 90 from Robert Parker, this is one of our favorites as its 85% Malbec, 10% Syrah and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. It has a brilliant ruby color with violet edges. Strawberries, raspberries and ripe fruit with touch of pepper and spices aromas. In mouth, flavors of red fruit, spice and hints of vanilla from aging in French oak. Round, soft tannins lead to a delicate, lingering finish.
