Come join us this Friday as we sample wines, liqueur and switch things up a little bit by tasting ciders instead of beer — and these are four absolutely delicious specialty ciders from France:

Txopinondo Sagarnoa Cidre — a light, dry, Basque cider that’s juicy, richly layered and blends sweet mandarin orange and sweet lemon flavors, ripe apple, slight acetic notes and a distinctive kiwi character.

Le Pere Jules Brut Cidre — Imagine the taste of a dry champagne with ripe, slightly sweet apple flavors  because that’s what this wonderful cider tastes like.

Clos de la Fontaine Hugo Cidre — Silver Medal winner at the 2016 Great Lakes Int’l Cider Competition. Organically grown apples produce a light, dry and very refreshing cider.

Domaine de Kerveguen Brut Cidre –Fantastic flavor mix of sweet apples, spices and a light white wine oak-iness with a hint of yeast.

Big-O-300x256For the liquor portion of our tasting event, we’ll be hosting THE BIG O Ginger Liqueur.

Distilled locally in Maplewood, MO, this versatile liqueur is subtle and delicious, with a mix of Asian spices and a hint of citrus that rounds the flavors out. You’ll be able to taste it straight or in cocktails mixtures.

And for the wines, our wonderful rep from Pinnacle will be bringing these for you to taste:

Three Brooms Sauvignon Blanc — This classic New Zealand Marlborough pairs vibrant acidity and a refreshing citrusy finish with a rich texture that carries sumptuous grapefruit, lime zest and peppery flavors.

Parducci Pinot Noir — a small lot blend  sourced from distinct vineyard parcels in and around Mendocino County. The flavor contains a mix of rich fruit – dark cherry, strawberry, raspberry – along with a light loamy, earthy taste. Their Pinot Noir won the Best of Class Mendocino Wine Competition.

garnacha de fuegoLagar de Condesa Albarino — a refreshing Spanish white wine that offers flavors of green banana, peach, apple and woodspice that finishes crisp and with a touch of elegance from its light minerality. Deservedly scores 88 points on Wine Enthusiast.

Garnacha de Fuego — with a score of 89 points from Robert Parker, this excellent wine is “A Spanish 100% old-vine Grenache fruit-bomb, it offers loads of strawberry and cherry fruit intermixed with hints of earth, spice and pepper, silky tannins, and a medium-bodied, delicious, savory mouthfeel.”
