Join us this Friday evening tasting as we celebrate a relatively mild-weathered weekend with a delicious selection of adult beverages to tantalize your tastebuds. We’ll start off the evening’s proceedings with beers from one of our hometown favorites, MARTIN CITY BREWING CO.:

HARDWAY IPAAn American East Coast IPA that’s dry hopped three times to give it a complexity of strong citrus flavors with a touch of toasted malts.

BELGIAN BLONDE – light and easy-drinking blonde made with a blend of rye malt and Saaz hops to give it some spicy notes and dry hopped to give it a delicate floral and spicy aroma.

BELGIAN ABBEY ALE – a velvety and full bodied Dubbel-style ale that offers flavors of Belgian yeast spice, toffee, and nutty malts.

HIGHWAYMAN – a bourbon-barrel aged Imperial Porter that’s medium-bodied with rich flavors of chocolate malt, vanilla, raisins, and that delicious slightly-charred woody taste of bourbon backing it.

restless spirits vodkaFor the liquors, we’ll be sampling the full line-up of liquors from our new local distillery RESTLESS SPIRITS (located in the Crossroads area). Their production is small batch and hand-crafted for quality. Come in and “support local” by tasting their:

BUILDERS GIN – a 92-proof gin crafted with 11 botanicals. Rosemary and juniper are in there, to give it that underpinning. The citrus and floral elements, the lavender, rose and meadowsweet, balance the combination.

DUFFY’S RUN VODKA – an all-corn, 90-proof with a whisker of sweetness.

SONS OF ERIN IRISH WHISKEY – imported Irish Whiskey hand-selected from the private reserves of Teeling in Ireland. Aged 4 years, then re-finished with short-term aging in freshly emptied Breckenridge Bourbon barrels to give it a light, sweet smooth flavor.

STONE BREAKER WHISKEY – 100-percent barley with a Scottish ale yeast to give it a floral note, this blended Irish-American Whiskey has a “soft palate” that’s a touch sweeter, like bourbon.

Layer-Cake-Rosé-of-Pinot-NoirAnd for the wines, our wonderful rep from D&E Fine Wines division will be bringing these for you to sample:

LAYER CAKE ROSE – tropical flavors of guava and crushed loquat harmonize with field-ripened strawberries, picked fresh for the farmers market. The vibrant acidity is layered with pink grapefruit zest, rhubarb and pineapple that culminates in a bone dry, refreshing finish.

LAYER CAKE SAUVIGNON BLANC – delicious flavors of Oro Blanco grapefruit, orange blossom, and Kaffir Lime are followed by layers of ripe mango, gooseberry and white peaches as the beautifully balanced fruit and acidity leave the finish clean and crisp with lingering citrus and floral notes.

UNDERWOOD ROSE – this light and refreshing rose from Oregon offers refreshing flavors of strawberry, watermelon, and peach that are perfect for warm Summer nights — and it’s sold in cans, ideal for taking to the pool, lake, camping, etc.

CONO SUR PINOT NOIR – from South America’s Southern Cone, on whose western edge lays Chile and its gifted wine valleys. Medium-light body, fruit forward, lots of flavor tending toward herbs and spice. A fantastic pinot noir for the price.

ALMA NEGRA BRUT: With a Robert Parker rating of 90 points, this sparking rose is made from both Malbec and Pinot Noir grapes. Displaying crisp, elegant acids intermixed with strawberry, cranberry and fruit cocktail-like notes, it’s medium-bodied and just delicious.
