titos-vodkaJoin us in tasting some light, Summer-drinking refreshments this Friday evening, starting with one of our most popular:

TITO’s AMERICAN VODKA – Famed Austin, TX distiller of fine vodka will be here to let you taste Tito’s straight or in a refreshing Moscow Mule.

And to complement the vodka, we’ll be sampling 2 hot-weather favorites in the beer and mixer department:

Crabbies Original Alcoholic Ginger Beer – 4.8% alcohol, it’s dark amber gold colour; fairly intense aromas of ginger, spice, with notes of oak and cedar; sweet, medium bodied, frothy carbonation, with flavours of sweet ginger, spice and citrus notes; pleasantly balanced and spicy on the finish.

fruliFruli –  a high quality Strawberry Belgian fruit beer, produced at a craft brewery in Melle near Ghent in Belgium. It is a unique blend of white beer and strawberry juice. The juice complements the zestiness of the wheat beer and the result is a balanced and refreshing beer that is packed with strawberry fruit flavor.

And for the wines, we’re staying with some lighter ones to make the heat more bearable:

Dr. Loosen’s Dr. L Riesling – refreshing and fruity, this embodies the elegant and racy style of classic Mosel Riesling with a fine mineral edge that is typical of the region. Consistent in quality every year, it’s averaged a 90 rating on Wine Spectator the last 2 years.

Planeta Rose – Made in Sicily with a blend that’s 50% Syrah / 50% Nero d’Avola (also known as Calabrese). This rose is silky smooth, slightly dry, with a blend of citrus flavors that remind of tangerines and light plums. Delicious and makes a great pairing with any summer-type food.

Planeta-Rose-Sicilia-IGT-2013Long Meadow Ranch Sauvignon Blanc – With a Wine Spectator rating of 90 points, on the palate, the flavors include a range of fruit (apricot to citrus), elaborated by salinity, water chestnut and grapefruit zest notes.

Cono Sur Bicycle Pinot Noir – from South America’s Southern Cone, on whose western edge lays Chile and its gifted wine valleys. Medium-light body, fruit forward, lots of flavor tending toward herbs and spice. A fantastic pinot noir for the price.
