Join us this Friday evening for a tasting filled with adult beverages designed to help you beat the early arrival of Summer heat. We’ll tip off our line-up with COOP ALE WORKS out of Oklahoma City bringing these beers for you to taste:

F5 IPA – earning a 96 points score on RateBeer, the straightforward malt body of this IPA supports the distinctive bouquet of Columbus and Falconers Flight hops that impart citrus, grapefruit and pine notes characteristic of the West Coast style.

SPARE RIB PALE ALE – Big on late-hopped flavor, easy on bitterness, our American Pale Ale has a heaping portion of Columbus and Amarillo hops added after it leaves the brewhouse.

SATURDAY SIREN –  a light-bodied, crisp and refreshing pilsner that’s dry-hopped with Idaho 007 and Comet hops to bring new world flavor to this old world style, giving it a little of the earthy and fruity flavors with a clean finish.

FLY ME AWAY IPA – their take on a hazy New England-style IPA features delicious unfiltered  flavors of fruity hops with only mild bitterness that’s easily overshadowed by its juicy characteristics.

For the liquors, UNION HORSE DISTILLERY (formerly DARK HORSE) will be bringing these excellent entries for you to sample:

ROLLING STANDARD – their newest whiskey offering is a Midwestern Four Grain Whiskey made from locally sourced barley, wheat, corn and rye. It is aged in American oak before being bottled at 92 proof, with flavors of vanilla, maple, almond and dark fruit with a hint of cinnamon.

STRAIGHT BOURBON WHISKEY – this smooth 92 proof spirit is distilled from a sour mash recipe in their copper pot stills, giving it tender notes of creamy vanilla, maple and smoke.
RYE WHISKEY  – 95 proof small batch 100% rye whiskey handcrafted in copper pot stills that give it smooth complex notes of butterscotch, caramel, ginger and cinnamon spice.
BARREL STRENGTH RYE WHISKEY – distilled from locally-sourced, 100 percent rye mash, this 112.3 proof whiskey offers a robust combination of caramel, maple and light vanilla tasting notes, with hints of mint and cinnamon spice.

If you haven’t tried these, don’t miss this opportunity! The distillery has won 36 spirits awards medals, including 11 gold medals, since 2012. In addition to the name change, the company is also now using 5-year barrel-aged stock that makes their whiskeys even smoother than before.

We’ll also be tasting their RIDER VODKA – made from the finest local wheat and distilled in a copper pot, this vodka is slow filtered for superior quality and a smooth finish.

And for the wines, our excellent rep from Trademark/Bronco Wines will be bringing these for you to taste:

JACQUES PELVAS BRUT ROSE – From a small family winery in the Provence region of France, this French sparkling wine is made from 100% Grenache grapes; it’s quite lively with a rose-petal softness, bright acidity, and a clean, strawberry finish.

PACIFIC OASIS RIESLING – this Columbia Valley, Washington wine offers flavors of apricot, green apple, honey and lemon with a semi-sweet finish that can be enjoyed with food (especially spicy ones) or by itself. A great warm weather patio wine!

ALESSANDRO DONNATA NERO D’AVOLA – this organically farmed, medium-bodied Sicilian red doles out generous flavors of black cherry, jammy raspberry compote with deeper notes of plum, chocolate and earthy cinnamon wrapped in velvety tannins to give it a smooth, lingering finish.

SABLES D’AZUR ROSE – from the Cotes de Provence region of France, this crisp and fresh rose offers delicate hints of small red fruits (red currant) and sweet citrus fruits (clementine, sweet grapefruit) along with a light, bright acidity that’s soft and fruity on the finish.

VINA CUMBRERO RIOJA CRIANZA – this mostly Tempranillo blend has a polished texture that carries crisp flavors of tart cherry, fresh herb, anise and mineral, supported by light, firm tannins and lively acidity. Graceful, with balanced fruity and savory notes that give way to a spicy, floral finish.
