Join us this Friday evening for a full Fall tasting of adult beverages that’ll get you primed for the coming start of the Holiday season. We’ll start off our line-up with COOP ALE WORKS out of Oklahoma City bringing these beers for you to taste:

F5 IPA – earning a 96 points score on RateBeer, the straightforward malt body of this IPA supports the distinctive bouquet of Columbus and Falconers Flight hops that impart citrus, grapefruit and pine notes characteristic of the West Coast style.

SPARE RIB PALE ALE – Big on late-hopped flavor, easy on bitterness, our American Pale Ale has a heaping portion of Columbus and Amarillo hops added after it leaves the brewhouse.

NATIVE AMBER RED IPA –  an audacious blend of hops and malt, the caramel and biscuit notes carry the Cascade and Cluster hops through to an enjoyably round finish. The malt complexity proves rich and the dry-hopped character is invigorating.

GRAN SPORT PORTER – a robust porter with aromatic notes of chocolate and roasted coffee complimenting the full-bodied mouthfeel derived from a healthy addition of oat flakes. Dark. Roasty. Malty. Splendid.

For the liquor, our outstanding rep from Major Brands will be bringing an array of whiskeys for you to sample from:

KANSAS SPIRIT WHISKEY – a blended whiskey made mostly of neutral grain spirits and straight whiskey, and due to their 100% wheat mashbill, vanilla and coconut are the dominant flavors with some hints of ripe orange, sweet grains and caramel coffee syrup (Torani). Its finish tastes somewhat like candy corn that fades to a vanilla salt water taffy flavor.  Unusual for a whiskey, it’s a taste treat that even rum and vodka drinkers will find appealing.

12-FOOT BEARD  WHISKEY –  bottled by Wood Hat Spirits in New Florence, MO.,, and  aged for five years plus, the whiskey has a rye spiciness to it that persists all the way to the finish, as well as the sweetness of the corn that’s evident primarily in the mouthfeel.

JEFFERSON’S VERY SMALL BATCH BOURBON – aged in barrels 6 to 10 years with a very light char, allowing a myriad of secondary flavours to express themselves that would otherwise be masked by a heavier char. The result is a very approachable, easy-drinking bourbon of the highest quality. Made with a mashbill of 60% corn, 30% rye and 10% malted barley, it offers flavor notes of sweet vanilla, spices, toffee, berry fruits, a touch of orange zest, spices and honey.

We’ll also be tasting: our hand-picked JEFFERSON’S RESERVE BOURBON. When you buy any bourbon, what you get is a mix of different barrels — some peppery, some bitey, some smooth, all mixed together. When we buy Jefferson’s though, their rep brings us samples from different barrels and we choose the smoothest one. What you get is Jefferson’s Reserve that is much smoother for the dollar than what you’ll get when you buy it off the shelf anywhere else. Don’t believe it? Come try our Jefferson’s with the Plaza Liquor label on it and compare for yourself.

And for the wines, our excellent rep from Trademark/Bronco Wines will be bringing these for you to taste:

CHATEAU GASSIER SABLES D’AZUR ROSE – this Cotes de Provence, France rose is made from 34% Grenache, 33% Syrah, 33% Cinsault. This dry and elegant rose offers delicious flavors of ripe red berries with a light and clean citrus zest.

SUMMERS ESTATE ANDRIANA’S CABERNET SAUVIGNON – this excellent cuvee contains a mix of cabernet grapes from Sonoma County, Lake County and Napa. It also includes other Bordeaux red varieties as well as tiny amounts of Syrah and Petite Sirah. Medium bodied and dusty, with dried herb tones, it’s structured, velvety and finishes on a dark chocolate note.

PACIFIC OASIS RIESLING – this Columbia Valley, Washington wine offers flavors of apricot, green apple, honey and lemon with a semi-sweet finish that can be enjoyed with food (especially spicy ones) or by itself. A great warm weather patio wine!

SIX DEGREES CHARDONNAY – heady flavors of creamy oak, green apple and honey finish with a lingering softness.

VINA CUMBRERO RIOJA CRIANZA – this mostly Tempranillo blend has a polished texture that carries crisp flavors of tart cherry, fresh herb, anise and mineral, supported by light, firm tannins and lively acidity. Graceful, with balanced fruity and savory notes that give way to a spicy, floral finish.
