Join us after your Black Friday shopping and unwind during our Friday evening tasting that’ll feature a delicious line-up of adult beverages including some wine varietals you may never have tried. We’ll start off the tasting with a selection of beers from NEW BELGIUM BREWING CO. that includes:

VOODOO RANGER IMPERIAL IPA – This 9% ABV beer features a rare blend of choice hops that create an explosion of fresh-cut pine and citrus flavors for a complex, rich and delicious flavor.

FAT TIRE – their best-known beer, using a broad palette of ingredients (fruits, spices, esoteric yeast strains) this perfectly balanced beer offers flavors of toasty malt, gentle sweetness, and a flash of fresh hop bitterness.

FAT TIRE BELGIAN WHITE – made with Seville oranges and Indian coriander, both freshly ground less than a mile from our Fort Collins brewery. It’s a fresh, perfectly sweet, natural tasting Belgian White.

ACCUMULATION WHITE IPA – they shovel in plenty of mosaic and Amarillo hop varietals and a bit of wheat for a smooth mouthfeel with flavors of  tropical fruits, bright citrus, spicy/herbal from the heavy dry hopping.

For the liquors, we’ll be hosting our historic local distillery J. RIEGER & CO. who re-opened in 2010 and rapidly became a favorite with these fine products we’ll be tasting:

KANSAS CITY WHISKEY – bottled at 92 Proof from a corn & malt light whiskey and a straight rye, both aged for a minimum of 7 years.  To this is added  15 year old Oloroso sherry (not exceeding 2.5% of the volume) from the Williams & Humbert Bodega in Jerez, Spain that makes the whiskey balanced, smooth and slightly sweet.

MIDWESTERN PREMIUM VODKA – distilled in a copper pot, they utilize a blend of potato, wheat and corn to give it a clean, unique and full-flavored taste.

MIDWESTERN DRY GIN – inspired by traditional London Gins that emphasize the character of mature Juniper berries, the result is a bold Gin layered with complex botanical flavors that makes it perfect for sipping or mixing.

CAFFE AMARO – their newest creation, made in collaboration with KC coffee roasters Thou Mayest, they select a single origin coffee roast that’s combined with orange, cardamom, vanilla and gentian. Then barrel-aged, the result is a rich, bittersweet flavor that works great in cocktails or as a digestive.

And for the wines, our excellent rep from Italian Vine will be bringing these for you to sample:

COLLEFRISIO CERASUOLO – this delicious Italian rose is made from 100% Montepulciano d’Abruzzo. Pink cherry; the nose is floral with hints of fresh fruit, cherry and black cherry. Good structure and balance, fresh, persistent, fragrant. The fruit is well integrated with the sense of smell.

COLLEFRISIO TREBBIANO – made from 100% Trebbiano d’Abruzzo aged in stainless steel, this wine is a mouthwatering, linear white, with ground white pepper and stone accents underscoring the yellow plum, raw almond and lemon wax notes. Well-balanced, offering a lasting finish.

JORCHE “CALEIDO” NEGRAMARO DEL SALENTO – made from 100 % Negramaro, this wine is soft and balanced, but with intense flavors of plum, black cherry and violet.

BABCOCK SANTA RITA HILLS PINOT NOIR – this wine offers a jolt of dark power; baked black fruits and cherries with gobs of earth and spice. Calling it complex does not do it justice. After its open for a while, the oak comes together with the fruit, creating a nice mocha quality, and the mouth feel turns plush with a succulent viscosity.
