Join us this Friday as we celebrate the Fall season with a great selection of beers, wines and upper-end Tequilas. To start off, we’ll be sampling from two new-to-KC breweries that you might not have tried yet — GOLDEN ROAD BREWING out of Los Angeles, and ELYSIAN BREWING out of Seattle. We’ll have two from each company for you to sample:

Golden Road’s WOLF AMONG WEEDS IPA – garnering a 96 score on RateBeer, this is an 8% ABV, full-bodied  showcase of Columbus, Chinook and CTZ hops with dank, earthy hop notes and subtle rye spice.

Golden Road’s WOLF PUP – with a 94 score on RateBeer, this session IPA has a wildly aromatic tropical and citrus character based off its inclusion of Cascade, Simcoe, Chinook, Equinox,  Mosaic, and Galaxy hops.

Elysian NIGHT OWL PUMPKIN ALE – brewed with over 7 lbs. of pumpkin & pumpkin seeds per barrel, then spiced in conditioning with nutmeg, clove, cinnamon, ginger and allspice.

Elysian THE IMMORTAL IPA – a classic English-style version of an IPA brewed with Pale, Munich, Crystal and Cara-hell malts as well as being bittered with Chinook hops, then finished with Amarillo and Centennial hops.

avion_tequila_bottlesFor the tequilas, we’ll be sampling the line-up from AVION TEQUILA, which has won multiple awards at the yearly San Francisco World Spirits Competition. Produced in Jalisco, Mexico from  Agave grown in the highest elevations, Avion tequilas are some of the smoothest on the market. We will be sampling:

AVION SILVER – intense agave aromas with herbal notes of mint and rosemary, delicate hues of flowers and black pepper, and hints of grapefruit and pineapple.

AVION REPOSADO – six months of aging impart a faint yellowish tinge, a citrusy scent, and a mild, smoky flavor that finishes with some mint and anise tones.

AVION ANEJO – the smoky, vegetal scent of this gold-hued Añejo is reminiscent of mescal, but has a lighter, softer texture. The honeyed flavor is quickly overwhelmed by a tingly, peppery finish.

After having a very successful tasting with them in July, for the wines, we’ll again be hosting the Overland Park, KS based AUBREY WINES who are bringing these Fall faves:

Aubrey Wines AppleAPPLE WINE – Freshly pressed, local apple juice was slowly fermented at low temperatures in order to retain clean and crisp aromas and flavors of pure, fresh apples.

CHAMBOURCIN – This elegant dry red wine exhibits complex spicy, smoky and earthy aromas and flavors complimented by layers of black cherry and wild berries.  Its silky, velvety texture and light to medium body resemble the finest burgundies.

TRAMINETTE – Fresh aromas of sassafras, allium, and endive are complimented by a generous bouquet of kiwi, honey dew, and star fruit flavors.  A gentle blend of tannins and tart bring each sip into a long, crisp finish that playfully dances around the boundaries of sweet and dry.

HONEY WINE – Made by fermenting pure, local honey.  Intense yet delicate honey aromas and flavors dominate this sweet and delightful wine.
