Join us this Friday evening as we celebrate the NCAA Regional Tournament here in KC with a mix of adult beverages. We’ll tip off the tastings with beers from MOTHER’S BREWING CO. who are bringing these selections for you to sample:

LIL’ HELPER IPA – aggressively hopped in both the wort kettle and aging vessel for a sharp, clean bitterness and fragrant citrus hop flavors.

UNCANNY – this American Pale Ale struts a pleasant hop aroma with hints of citrus while the subtle malt character creates a not so uncanny balance. Refreshing and crisp in taste.

BLOOD ORANGE SAISON – the yeasty flavor of a saison quickly gives way to citrus on the tongue, orange peel, lemon and the juice of blood orange. Sharp and refreshing.

THREE BLIND MICE – this beautiful brown beer is medium-bodied with caramel, toffee, and subtle chocolate malt flavors—all balanced by moderate hop notes and a clean, dry finish.

For the liquors, we’ll be hosting MI RANCHO TEQUILA, the Jalisco, Mexico-based distiller (that’s owned by local Kansas Citians) which won the Spirits International Prestige (SIP) Award taking Platinum and earning 96 points out of 100. Interestingly, their tequila has the lowest methanol content of any tequila in the world, and this is important because methanol is what causes a hangover.

Great tasting, with a slightly spicy finish, they’ll be bringing their SILVER and REPOSADO  tequilas for you to try.

And for the wines, our wonderful rep from Vintegrity will be bringing these to tempt your tastebuds with:

SHANNON RIDGE CABERNET SAUVIGNON – part of their High Elevation Collection, its  flavors include ripe dark fruits, dark chocolate, black pepper, hints of vanilla and spice. It’s a smooth wine with good structure, rich tannins and a long and lingering finish.

SHANNON RIDGE SAUVIGNON BLANC – earning a 90 points “Editors Choice” from Wine Enthusiast, this High Elevation Sauvignon Blanc is a crisp and refreshing wine with aromas of citrus and tropical fruits. The wine has flavors of guava, citrus and lemongrass.

ZOLO MALBEC – this Argentinian wine offersrRipe berry, black cherry and bitter chocolate flavors that finish with a note of toasty oak.

SEAN MINOR FOUR BEARS CHARDONNAY – tropical fruit notes and green apple flavors are framed by nice acidity which integrates well with the medium body mouthfeel. The green apple and pear meld with juicy acidity to provide a lengthy finish.
