Join us this Friday evening for a lucky Friday the 13th in October as we lay out some delicious adult beverages for you to sample. We’ll be starting off with this selection of beers from the highly-rated ELYSIAN BREWING out of Seattle:
SPACE DUST IPA – earning a 96 points score from RateBeer, this fresh hoppy IPA is brewed with Chinook hops to bitter and then dry-hopped with additions of Citra and Amarillo hops.
DAYGLOW IPA – earning a 96 points score from RateBeer, this beer has a touch of wheat hazing the malt bill, softening this bright and crisp IPA. Packed with juicy hops featuring pineapple and tropical fruit flavors, this mid-60s IBU IPA is full of Mosaic, Eldorado and Centennial hops.
For the liquors, UNION HORSE DISTILLERY (formerly DARK HORSE) will be bringing these excellent entries for you to sample:
If you haven’t tried these, don’t miss this opportunity! The distillery has won 36 spirits awards medals, including 11 gold medals, since 2012. In addition to the name change, the company is also now using 5-year barrel-aged stock that makes their whiskeys even smoother than before.
We’ll also be tasting their RIDER VODKA – made from the finest local wheat and distilled in a copper pot, this vodka is slow filtered for superior quality and a smooth finish.
And for the wines, our sterling rep from Appellations will be bringing these fine wines for you to try:
LAMBERT DE SEYSSEL “PETIT ROYAL” – from the village of Seyssel in the French Alps, this delicious sparkling wine is made from the grapes Molette and Altesse (which dates back to at least 1363 in this area). Offering delightful flavors of alpine flowers, dried fruit, wildflower honey, and a toasty, yeasty note that gives this sparkler an aromatic richness and complexity.
GOTHIC “TELLTALE” ROSE – made from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes from vineyards throughout the Willamette Valley, this pale pink rose offers flavors of fresh, wild red berries and cherry blossoms joined by a refreshing acidity.
SALVAJE DEL MONCAYO GARNACHA – made from grapes harvested from ancient ‘wild’ bush vines in the mountainous Moncayo end of the Ebro Valley, the palate offers flavors of ripe red fruit, wild berries and a Burgundian minerality, with subtle French oak.
ELIZABETH SPENCER SAUVIGNON BLANC – this medium to light-bodied wine offers the complexity of stone fruit, peach and green apples flavors that yield to a very bright citrusy, crisp finish with great balancing acidity.
NEVERMORE PINOT NOIR – earning a 90 points score from Wine Spectator, this Willamette Valley wine is firm and sleek, with velvety tannins around a taut core of cherry, red plum, floral and spice savors, lingering effortlessly on the focused finish.
