Join us this Friday evening for a tasting of old favorites, some new favorites. some Spanish favorites you should be drinking, and a special release. We’ll start off with ZIPLINE BREWING CO., a wonderful Lincoln, NEB beer maker who’s bringing these beers for you to try, including their new collaboration with Boulevard Brewing:

GETTIN’ DOWN HOP DUST DOUBLE IPA – brewed in collaboration with Boulevard, composed of Zipline’s base pale malt with just a touch of toasty Vienna malt to provide color and subtle sweetness while allowing super bright notes of lychee and tropical fruits contributed by liberal hopping with Bravo, Galaxy, Simcoe, Mosaic and lupulin powder (AKA hop dust).

KOLSCH – A refreshing ale that drinks like a lager, their German-style Kölsch pours straw yellow with hints of honey malt character and a smooth, crisp finish.

IPA – This bright, golden IPA overflows with juicy hops, showcasing a sublime blend of tropical citrus, grapefruit and mango aromas.

COPPER ALT – A hybrid style between an ale and a lager, this bronze-hued brew goes down easy with subtle nuances of chocolate and hazelnut. 2015 GREAT AMERICAN BEER FESTIVAL® · GOLD MEDAL · GERMAN-STYLE ALTBIER

For the liquors we’ll be hosting the award-winning spirits from PINCKNEY BEND DISTILLERY, the New Haven, Missouri-based company that’s earned itself an excellent reputation for:

PB CASK-FINISHED GIN – Finished in their gently used Award-winning Rested American Whiskey barrels, which introduces a layer of complex wood flavors, a subtle vanilla infused sweetness and the spice of  our delicious whiskey. Won the Gold medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition 2015.

PB HIBISCUS GIN – Inspired by native Missouri flora, this unique gin combines signature botanicals such as yarrow, elderflower and cubeb berries with hibiscus and juniper. Won the Silver Medal at the San Francisco International Spirits Competition in 2017.

PB THREE GRAIN AMERICAN VODKA – Started in their pot still, then into their copper column still, their vodka is distilled multiple times in multiple ways to achieve an extremely smooth spirit with distinct character. Won the Silver Medal at the San Francisco International Spirits Competition in 2018. Earned a score of 94 points from Wine Enthusiast.

PB UN-AGED CORN WHISKEY – Made from locally-grown corn. It’s pot distilled in small batches and brought down to bottling strength with water from 1200 feet deep Ozark Plateau limestone aquafir.  Won the Gold medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition 2013.

And their rave-reviewed PB TONIC SYRUP to go with their gins that “The color is amber with hints of peach and rose … Light, soft and very viscous when swirled. The nose is cinchona, rose and lemongrass, with hints of something earthier to ground it all”.

And for the wines, our wonderful rep from D&E Fine Wines division will be bringing these (mostly) Spanish ones for you to try:

ALMA NEGRA BRUT: With a Robert Parker rating of 90 points, this sparking rose is made from both Malbec and Pinot Noir grapes. Displaying crisp, elegant acids intermixed with strawberry, cranberry and fruit cocktail-like notes, it’s medium-bodied and just delicious.

LEGADO DEL CONDE ALBARINO – earning a score of 88 points from Wine Enthusiast, this crisp Spanish white pops with lemony acidity and related tang. Flavors of tart green apple and lime are racy almost to the point of being sour, while this ends with a tingle of sharp acidity and a sense of wet stones and minerals.

MARQUES DE CACERES RIOJA – earning a score of 89 points from both Wine Enthusiast and Wine Spectator, this blend of 85% Tempranillo, 10% Garnacha tinta and 5% Graciano offers a full-bodied mouthfeel with tastes of black plum, tea and dry spices with a bit of oaky chocolate present on the finish.
