Ballast Point Brewing Co. , the San Diego beer-maker that’s become incredibly popular, will be bringing these four beers for you to sample:
WATERMELON DORADO – An Imperial/Double IPA with a full taste of piney hops and a Jolly Rancher watermelon flavor.
EVEN KEEL – A full-flavored session IPA with a silky malt backbone and a bright hop profile of herbs and citrus.
MANGO EVEN KEEL – Their session IPA with the delicious flavor of mango added.
COMMODORE STOUT – A medium-bodied stout with strong flavors of roast coffee and bittersweet chocolate balanced with light citrusy hop aromas.
For the whiskey, UNION HORSE DISTILLERY (formerly DARK HORSE) will be bringing their excellent BOURBON and RYE WHISKEY for you to sample.
If you haven’t tried these, don’t miss this opportunity! The distillery has won 36 spirits awards medals, including 11 gold medals, since 2012. In addition to the name change, the company is also now using 5-year barrel-aged stock that makes their whiskeys even smoother than before.
And for the wines, our great rep from Pinnacle Imports is bringing five wines that offer a variety of a little something for everyone’s tastes:
ATALAYA LAYA – With a Robert Parker score of 88, Laya is a blend of 70% Garnacha and 30% Monastrell, with a superb bouquet of pure dark cherries, blackberry and incense that would normally grace a wine far more expensive.
WINES OF SUBSTANCE CABERNET SAUVIGNON – Sporting a 92 score from Robert Parker, this unfiltered, unfined, 100% Cabernet Sauvignon is opaque, deep and rich with black plum and blackberry fruit intermixed with ample licorice, toasted bread and violet aromas and flavors.
KUNG FU GIRL RIESLING – With a score of 91 from Wine Spectator, KFG is crisp and sleek, with juicy, expansive nectarine and peach flavors that play against citrusy acidity, finishing with zing and a sense of softness.
RAPIDO PINOT GRIGIO – An Italian semi-sweet white wine with notes of toasted nut, sage and exotic fruit.
