Join us this pleasant evening in August for a get-ready-for-pre-season football Friday tasting with some adult beverages to get you into the spirit. To kick off the evening, we’ll be hosting the fantastic local TORN LABEL BREWING CO. from the Crossroads Arts District who’ll be bringing these great beers for you to taste:
HOUSE BREW – a robust wheat stout brewed with over 50% malted wheat and a touch of oats for a silky smooth mouth-feel. Roasted wheat and chocolate malt give this beer a nice roasty profile that pairs nicely with the earthy tones of Sumatran coffee
MONK & HONEY – Brewed with barley, Belgian yeast, and local honey this beer is simple yet complex. A light floral quality and hint of sweetness remain from the honey nicely complementing the simple grain bill and earthy/spicy Belgian yeast.
ALPHA PALE ALE – Packed full of juicy pacific northwest hops this is the perfect session beer for hopheads.
31 HEROES – a delicious wheat IPA made to commemorate the tragic event that cost the lives of Navy SEALS in Afghanistan with a portion of the proceeds going to The Special Operations Warrior Foundation.
For the liquors, our rep from McCORMICK/360 VODKAS will be bringing some of their flavors for you to sample outright as well as mixing some interesting cocktails with them, including:
THE ANGRY LEPRACHAUN – made with flavored vodka and KEKE KEY LIME LIQUEUR.
And for the wines, our wonderful rep from Lile Wine will be bringing wines and cider for your tasting enjoyment:
LUCKY DOG HARD CIDER – made by local winery SOMERSET RIDGE, they use Louisburg Cider Mill apples to create a bubbly cider with a nice, light, crispy flavor that’s just lightly sweet.
ALLOY “WEISSLAND” – Sparkling Chardonnay from Edna Valley pitched with farmhouse ale from California brewery Libertine and dry hopped with Amarillo hops. Truly the crossroads of beer and wine. 11.5% alc and extremely crushable.
ALLOY GRENACHE ROSE – medium-bodied, fresh, juicy and dryish with ample strawberry, watermelon, a bit of peach and a hint of blood orange peel. And it comes in cans, perfect for the pool!
BRAZOS MDZ MALBEC – with a rich mouth feel held up by a good structure and smooth tannins, this fruit driven wine showcases boysenberry, blackberry, cocoa and cola nut flavors on the palate. The finish is long and smooth with hints of dried herbs and cedar that encapsulate the bright and vibrant wine.
FOXGLOVE CHARDONNAY – earning a core of 90 points from the Wine Advocate, this un-oaked Chardonnay is supple, clean and lively with flavors of juicy apple and exotic notes of pineapples, melon, citrus blossom, spice and hints of green herbs.
