WINDOWS UP – earning a score of 98 points on RateBeer, this full-bodied IPA combines Citra and Mosaic hops for a flavor that slightly sweet and citrusy mixed with notes of piney resin that finishes with a light, lingering, citrusy bitterness.
DUET – earning a score of 99 points on RateBeer, this medium-bodied IPA combines Simcoe and Amarillo hops for a bright, upfront tangerine citrus flavor that flows into lightly-bitter hoppiness (45 IBU) and finishes with a crisp and clean bitter piney-ness.
For the liquors, UNION HORSE DISTILLERY (formerly DARK HORSE) will be bringing these excellent entries for you to sample:
If you haven’t tried these, don’t miss this opportunity! The distillery has won 36 spirits awards medals, including 11 gold medals, since 2012. In addition to the name change, the company is also now using 5-year barrel-aged stock that makes their whiskeys even smoother than before.
We’ll also be tasting their RIDER VODKA – made from the finest local wheat and distilled in a copper pot, this vodka is slow filtered for superior quality and a smooth finish.
And for the wines, our wonderful Pinnacle rep will be bringing these for you to sample:
RIO MADRE ROSE – lively, with balanced acidity and a smooth minerality on the tongue, this wine(made from Rioja, Spain’s indigenous Graciano grape) delivers plum and citrus flavors prior to a dry and long finish that’s pithy and offers notes of ripe pink grapefruit.
SMASHBERRY WHITE BLEND – a soft, vibrant, fruity medium-to-full body frames elegant flavors of snappy mango-melon sorbet, mandarin oranges in light syrup, and a fruit cocktail finish with firm tannins and no oak. A nice, very fruity sipper.
DOMAINE DELAUNAY “TYDY” SAUVIGNON BLANC – from the Loire region of France, this wine marries grapefruit, gooseberry, pear, fresh lime and a subtle touch of tropical fruit on the palate with crisp acidity and a finish of light minerality.
PARDUCCI PINOT NOIR — a small lot blend sourced from distinct vineyard parcels in and around Mendocino County. The flavor contains a mix of rich fruit – dark cherry, strawberry, raspberry – along with a light loamy, earthy taste. Their Pinot Noir won the Best of Class Mendocino Wine Competition.
PARDUCCI MERLOT – firmly structured with a good, gripping texture, this wine offers rich flavors of black cherries and plums followed by a tea-leaf spiciness that adds savor and zest backed by bracing acidity and a modest layer of tannin that leads to a smooth, lingering finish.
