Join us this first Friday evening in December as we host a couple of hometown favorites for our tasting event. We’ll start off with a selection of beers from UINTA BREWING CO. (out of Salt Lake City) who’ll be bringing these delectable brews for you to try:
LIME PILSNER – Crisp, light-bodied, and immensely refreshing, it combines a subtle malty sweetness with hints of fresh lime for a little splash of summertime in a can.
HOP NOSH IPA – earning a 95 point score on RateBeer, this delicious IPA offers vibrant hop aromatics followed by flavors of pine, lime zest, and grapefruit supported by caramel malts.
HOP NOSH GRAPEFRUIT IPA – a Fall version of their Hop Nosh that’s tangy, juicy and slightly sweet, and features a flavorful burst of fresh squeezed white grapefruit.
RISE AND PINE – earning a 95 point score on RateBeer, this hoppy dark ale uses juniper and piney hops to create an assertive bitterness that’s balanced out by its smooth Chocolate and Munich malts finish.
PIT STOP – earning a 93 point score on RateBeer, this delicious kettle-soured Apricot IPA is brewed with apricots and an abundance of Cascade and Amarillo hops for a tangy and slightly sour flavor that ends with a smooth hop finish.
For the liquors, UNION HORSE DISTILLERY (formerly DARK HORSE) will be bringing these excellent entries for you to sample:
ROLLING STANDARD – their newest whiskey offering is a Midwestern Four Grain Whiskey made from locally sourced barley, wheat, corn and rye. It is aged in American oak before being bottled at 92 proof, with flavors of vanilla, maple, almond and dark fruit with a hint of cinnamon.
If you haven’t tried these, don’t miss this opportunity! The distillery has won 36 spirits awards medals, including 11 gold medals, since 2012. In addition to the name change, the company is also now using 5-year barrel-aged stock that makes their whiskeys even smoother than before.
We’ll also be tasting their RIDER VODKA – made from the finest local wheat and distilled in a copper pot, this vodka is slow filtered for superior quality and a smooth finish.
And for the wines, we’ll be hosting AMIGONI URBAN WINERY, the only Missouri winery to exclusively grow Vitis Vinifera grapes. Their wines are made from grapes grown at their estate vineyard in Centerview, Missouri, about 45 miles east of Kansas City and bottles here in the West Bottoms. They also bring in grapes from Lodi, California to supplement fruit from their vineyard. Of their wines, we’ll be sampling:
URBAN CEOAGES – This blend of 80% Grenache and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon is light-bodied and fruit-forward. Aged 12 months in Missouri oak, it has notes of cherry, plum and white pepper and a soft, smooth finish.
SAUVIGNON BLANC – Aromas of lemon peel and hints of grapefruit and pineapple.
URBAN DROVER – this blend of 50% Cabernet Franc and 50% Petit Verdot is aged 18 months in Missouri oak barrels to give complexity and depth to its nice, mature flavors of dark cherry and spice.
CABERNET FRANC – Their signature grape and best seller! Flavors of fresh cherry preserves, vanilla and tobacco with a lingering oak finish. Aged 18 months in Missouri oak barrels.
