FREE EVENT
Join us this Friday evening as we lay out a selection of winter-warmer adult beverages for you to sample.
To kick off the evening, we’ll be hosting the fantastic local TORN LABEL BREWING CO. from the Crossroads Arts District who’ll be bringing these great beers for you to taste:
HOUSE BREW – a robust wheat stout brewed with over 50% malted wheat and a touch of oats for a silky smooth mouth-feel. Roasted wheat and chocolate malt give this beer a nice roasty profile that pairs nicely with the earthy tones of Sumatran coffee
MONK & HONEY – Brewed with barley, Belgian yeast, and local honey this beer is simple yet complex. A light floral quality and hint of sweetness remain from the honey nicely complementing the simple grain bill and earthy/spicy Belgian yeast.
ALPHA PALE ALE – Packed full of juicy pacific northwest hops this is the perfect session beer for hopheads.
For the vodkas, we’re bringing back —
COORANBONG and BOMBORA VODKAS – Cooranbong is a vodka made out of grapes from the Barossa Valley in Australia, distilled 10 times to make it a “smooth,” bite-free vodkas with an almost spring water-like finish in the mouth. Bombora is distilled 7 times from premium Australian grapes, and utilizes Australian water to create one of the smoothest, cleanest and freshest gluten-free vodkas in its price-point on the market today.
And for the wines, our wonderful D & E rep from Glazers will be bringing these excellent wines for you to sample:
SCHARFFENBERGER BRUT ROSE – earning a 91 point score from Wine Enthusiast, this sparkling wine is rich and layered, with rounded flavors of raspberry and strawberry balanced by good acidity for a long finish.
FAUST CABERNET SAUVIGNON – earning a score of 94 points from Robert Parker, this wine from the makers of Quintessa is full-bodied and intense, with a ripe mouthfeel and flavor notes of cassis, dark chocolate and ripe berries. The layers continue to unfold throughout a long finish.
LOVEBLOCK SAUVIGNON BLANC – earning a score of 90 points from Wine Spectator, this delicious New Zealand wine offers lemon, lime, passion fruit and grapefruit flavors that are intense but glide along elegantly in this light and refreshing white, with touches of lemon thyme on the finish.
DONATI CLARET – this Bordeaux blend of 47% Cabernet Sauvignon, 23% Merlot, 14% Malbec, 14% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot offers a complex mix of blackberry, purple florals, dark chocolate and espresso bean flavors, proving meaty and well spiced.
WILLAMETTE VALLEY VINEYARDS RIESLING – earning a score of 90 points from Wine Spectator, this semi-sweet wine is juicy with bright acidity and displays flavors of peach, pineapple and honeysuckle. The finish is wonderfully persistent with balance of sweetness and refreshing crispness.
