Come enjoy the tasting this week as we offer a fantastic line-up of adult beverages to tempt your taste-buds. We’ll start off the evening’s proceedings with beers from one of our hometown favorites, MARTIN CITY BREWING CO.:

HARDWAY IPAAn American East Coast IPA that’s dry hopped three times to give it a complexity of strong citrus flavors with a touch of toasted malts.

BELGIAN BLONDE – light and easy-drinking blonde made with a blend of rye malt and Saaz hops to give it some spicy notes and dry hopped to give it a delicate floral and spicy aroma.

BELGIAN ABBEY ALE – a velvety and full bodied Dubbel-style ale that offers flavors of Belgian yeast spice, toffee, and nutty malts.

ALCHEMY STOUT – brewed in collaboration with Alchemy Coffee, this stout offers the deep flavor of coffee with a hint of cocoa and vanilla.

bombora2For the vodkas, we’re bringing back —

COORANBONG and BOMBORA VODKAS – Cooranbong is a vodka made out of grapes from the Barossa Valley in Australia, distilled 10 times to make it a  “smooth,” bite-free vodkas with  an almost spring water-like finish in the mouth. Bombora is distilled 7 times from premium Australian grapes, and utilizes Australian water to create one of the smoothest, cleanest and freshest  gluten-free vodkas in its price-point on the market today.

Our wonderful rep from Vintegrity will be bringing a cider and a selection of wines. We’ll start with the offering from SHACKSBURY CIDERS as we taste their:

BASQUE CIDER – extra dry, unfiltered, with a funky, grapefruit rind, spice and apple cellar muskiness. Made in collaboration with Ainara Otaño of Petritegi Sagardoa in Astigarraga, Spain.

And for the wines, we’ll be sampling these:

misfit cycle-buff-beautyORIN SWIFT “LOCATION E” – A blend of Grenache/Garnacha, Tempranillo, Monastrell, and Carignan/Cariñena. This amazing wine is rich with youthful berry compote, floral, and plum flavors, complimented with bright acidity. The finish is expansive and pleasing with a persistent mocha tinge and silky tannins.

CHARLES BOVE VOUVRAY – This 100% Chenin Blanc offers a steely minerality balanced with semi-sweet stone fruits and a great level of acidity that brings forth a long finish. Pairs excellently with spicier foods.

MISFITS “CYCLE BUFF BEAUTY” – from Australia, this blend of 90% Shiraz and 10% Malbec tastes lush and expansive, offering spicy blackberry and bitter cherry flavors that are lifted by zesty acidity. Finishes with slightly edgy tannins and good, smoky persistence.

WALNUT BLOCK SAUVIGNON BLANC –  this extremely appealing New Zealand wine offers a silky texture while being crisp and fully dry, with strong tropical fruit flavors including a little gooseberry that finishes with a very subtle seasoning of oak.

LE ROCHER DES VIOLETTES TOURAINE – this Malbec from the Loire Valley in France is from vines planted in 1891. Deep, dark and dense, it features flavors of ripe cherries and dark berries with some minerality, good acidity, and slightly sticky tannins. A true treat for Malbec drinkers.
