Join us for a pre-4th of July tasting celebration this Friday as we bring in beers, ciders, wines and vodkas for you to sample before you spend the rest of the weekend at the lake, pool, park or wherever. Let’s start with the beers from Chicago’s GOOSE ISLAND BEER CO. —
GREEN LINE PALE ALE: American pale ale with a pronounced, bright, American hop aroma and citrus flavor. Notes of biscuit and lightly toasted malt create the backbone for its pleasant, crisp bitterness.
CALM RADLER: Perfect for Summertime, a refreshingly light wheat ale brewed with cucumber, lime and mint.
LAPINETTE: A tart, dry French-style Brut apple cider, aged with French yeast in French oak barrels for three months.
For one of the vodkas, we’ll be bringing back —
TITO’s AMERICAN VODKA – Famed Austin, TX distiller of fine vodka will be here to let you taste Tito’s straight or in a refreshing Moscow Mule.
And, joining in at 5 PM, our wonderful rep from Vintegrity will be bringing a wide selection that kicks off with vodkas from CHARBAY —
MEYER LEMON VODKA – made with 100% spray-free whole Meyer Lemons, extracted skins & all.
BLOOD ORANGE VODKA – made from 100% California-grown blood oranges.
He’ll also be bringing —
SHACKSBURY CIDERS’ FARMHOUSE CIDER – Sparkling, light bodied, refreshing, and dry. Lightly barrel aged and inspired by saison beer and rosé wine.
And he’ll also have these wines for you to try —
WRATH EX ANIMA PINOT NOIR – Big and dark fruity, the palate balances food-friendly acidity with a blend of black cherry, plum, and underbrush that intensifies to a finish both rich and long.
MORGAN METALLICO CHARDONNAY – The flavor of this un-oaked Chard has ripe fruit flavors of tangerine, green apple, and a streak of minerality. Crisp, food-friendly acidity keeps this special wine refreshing and bright.
AUNTSFIELD ESTATE SAUVIGNON BLANC – A single vineyard New Zealand Marlborough, this wine displays intense ripe fruit flavours of passionfruit and white peach, with citrus notes of lime and mandarin pith. The palate has intense concentration and generous weight, balanced by an underlying minerality.
DASHE DRY CREEK ZINFANDEL – with an 89 score from Wine Spectator, this black-purple colored wine has flavors of black cherry, black raspberry, cassis, and hints of chocolate and licorice with black pepper spice underlying the higher toned fruits.
BARBADILLO FINO PALE DRY SHERRY – from Andalucia, Spain, this is dry, light and elegant on the palate, with hints of almond due to the solera amturation in seasoned oak. With its long, clean and crisp finish, it’s perfect as an aperitif.
Super clean, always good. No special smells or tastes for me, so great for adding to with the flavors of your choice. You can never go wrong with Tito’s
