Join us this last Friday evening in July as we celebrate having a few days of mild weather with a tasting that’ll get you thinking of tailgate treats for the coming football season. We’ll start off with this assortment of beers from OSKAR BLUES BREWERY out of Colorado:
PINNER – Dry-hopping with several different heady hops, including a killer experimental variety, gives PINNER this tropical, stoned fruit aroma with hints of pine and smooth malt in the flavor.
DALE’S PALE ALE – Delivers a hoppy nose and assertive-but-balanced flavors of pale malts and citrusy floral hops from start to finish.
MAMA’S LITTLE YELLA PILS – Unlike mass market‚ “pilsners‚” diluted with corn and rice, Mama’s is built with 100% pale malt, German specialty malts, and Saaz hops.
For the liquors, our rep from Smart Dist. will be bringing in these delicious treats from INFUSE SPIRITS:
BROKEN BARREL BOURBON – this Kentucky-distilled bourbon features a unique blend of Corn, Rye, and Barely, perfectly balanced for a smoothness ages with new French Oak staves, new American Oak staves and a Sherry cask.
CINNAMON APPLE VODKA – a whiskey-brown spirit with numerous apple slices floating at the top of the bottle. The nose is pure apple, with touches of cinnamon, just like grandma used to bake. Smooth as silk on the body — the vodka is really only evident on the finish, as the sweet, dessert-like character of the product takes center stage. “Double Gold & Best-In-Show ‘Flavored’ Vodka at the 2014 San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
PEACH VODKA – no fake peach flavoring here: instead you’ll find a familiar, pleasantly sweet, true-peach scent. Made from a corn base, the bright tawny liquid is reminiscent of peach-flavored Bourbon: it has a boozy presence, and a long finish that hints at vanilla and bruised peaches.
LEMON VODKA – this gold-medal winning infusion at the New York International Spirits feels silky and viscous on the tongue, and evokes waxy lemon peel flavors. Thin ribbons of lemon peel visible inside the bottle speak to this brand’s natural-infusion ethos.
MANGO HABANERO VODKA – with flavors of fresh mangos and subtle peppers and spiced hazelnut, they infuse dried red mango and habanero pepper for at least 30 days to make this hot and sweet delight that perfectly pairs with a Bloody Mary for serious spiciness and flavor.
And for the wines, our excellent rep from Trademark/Bronco Wines will be bringing these for you to taste:
JACQUES PELVAS BRUT ROSE – From a small family winery in the Provence region of France, this French sparkling wine is made from 100% Grenache grapes; it’s quite lively with a rose-petal softness, bright acidity, and a clean, strawberry finish.
MARRENON “ROSEFINE” ROSE – earning a score of 89 points and a Best Buy from Wine Enthusiast, this Rhone Valley, French wine made mostly from Syrah grapes is full bodied and dry, offering succulent raspberry flavors with notes of wild strawberry and watermelon accented by fresh herb and violet hints. Bright acidity freshens the moderately long finish.
PACIFIC OASIS RIESLING – this Columbia Valley, Washington wine offers flavors of apricot, green apple, honey and lemon with a semi-sweet finish that can be enjoyed with food (especially spicy ones) or by itself. A great warm weather patio wine!
IRIS PINOT NOIR – earning a score of 89 points from Wine Enthusiast, this Willamette Valley wine is soft, round, and totally accessible with flavors of sassafras, pie cherries and cooked plums complimented by a deep, rich, and long finish.
SIX DEGREES CHARDONNAY – heady flavors of creamy oak, green apple and honey finish with a lingering softness.
