Join us this first Friday in June for a cornucopia of adult beverages to tempt your tastebuds. We’ll kick off with a line-up from Nebraska beer company TALLGRASS BREWING:
8-BIT PALE ALE – Channeled through the Hop Rocket — a stainless steel vessel packed with whole-leaf Cascade hops — which infuses the beer with an extra burst of bright citrus hop flavors and aromas.
RASPBERRY JAM – this light and refreshing Berliner Weisse has a crisp natural tartness that’s perfectly balanced by the addition of raspberries to make it a delicious warm-weather pleaser.
KEY LIME PIE – earning a 95 point score on RateBeer, this American sour blonde ale is brewed with Sorachi Ace hops, a Japanese variety with a unique lemon-lime citrus character. Added in the brew are lactose and lime peel, which give the beer a complex sweet-tart interplay, as well as a generous malt bill provides a solid foundation with just a hint of graham cracker crust.
For an additional delight, try a 50/50 blend of Key Lime Pie with Raspberry Jam. Fantastic!
For the liquors, UNION HORSE DISTILLERY (formerly DARK HORSE) will be bringing these excellent entries for you to sample:
If you haven’t tried these, don’t miss this opportunity! The distillery has won 36 spirits awards medals, including 11 gold medals, since 2012. In addition to the name change, the company is also now using 5-year barrel-aged stock that makes their whiskeys even smoother than before.
We’ll also be tasting their RIDER VODKA – made from the finest local wheat and distilled in a copper pot, this vodka is slow filtered for superior quality and a smooth finish.
And for the wines, we’ll be hosting the Overland Park, KS based AUBREY WINES who are bringing these Springtime favorites:
APPLE WINE – Freshly pressed, local apple juice was slowly fermented at low temperatures in order to retain clean and crisp aromas and flavors of pure, fresh apples.
CHAMBOURCIN – This elegant dry red wine exhibits complex spicy, smoky and earthy aromas and flavors complimented by layers of black cherry and wild berries. Its silky, velvety texture and light to medium body resemble the finest burgundies.
VIDAL BLANC – fermented cold in order to capture all of its enticing aromas. Floral and fruity aromas are complimented by bright, long lingering citrus flavors. This semi-dry wine has just enough sweetness to perfectly balance its crisp and refreshing acidity.
CATAWBA – This light red could almost be a rosé. Catawba is one of America’s most famous grapes, and the Aubrey version has enough juicy acidity to balance its sugar. Think of gourmet strawberry preserves.
