Friday May 11th
4 p.m. – 7 p.m.
Join us for a lovely Friday evening tasting as we get you ready for Mother’s Day with a heart-warming banquet of adult beverages. We’ll tip off the tastings with beers from Missouri’s own MOTHER’S BREWING CO. who are bringing these selections for you to try:
SUNSHINE CHUGSUCKLE – a New England style IPA with minimal hop bitterness and a delicious resiny, citrus aroma flavor with a full, creamy mouthfeel. Open a bottle and it smeels like grapefruit juice, and pours like juice. Fantastic warm-weather IPA.
TROP TOP – Heavily hopped with Citra and Mosaic late in the whirlpool and in the dry hop, this refreshing pale has a big fruity hop punch with a very restrained bitterness. The malt body is light with a mild sweetness to round out this juicy, tropical fruity pale.
THREE BLIND MICE – this beautiful brown beer is medium-bodied with caramel, toffee, and subtle chocolate malt flavors—all balanced by moderate hop notes and a clean, dry finish.
For the liquors, we’ll be sampling the full line-up of liquors from our new local distillery RESTLESS SPIRITS (located in the Crossroads area). Their production is small batch and hand-crafted for quality. Come in and “support local” by tasting their:
BUILDERS GIN – a 92-proof gin crafted with 11 botanicals. Rosemary and juniper are in there, to give it that underpinning. The citrus and floral elements, the lavender, rose and meadowsweet, balance the combination.
DUFFY’S RUN VODKA – an all-corn, 90-proof with a whisker of sweetness.
SONS OF ERIN IRISH WHISKEY – imported Irish Whiskey hand-selected from the private reserves of Teeling in Ireland. Aged 4 years, then re-finished with short-term aging in freshly emptied Breckenridge Bourbon barrels to give it a light, sweet smooth flavor.
STONE BREAKER WHISKEY – 100-percent barley with a Scottish ale yeast to give it a floral note, this blended Irish-American Whiskey has a “soft palate” that’s a touch sweeter, like bourbon.
And for the wines, our wonderful rep from Classique will be bringing these for you to sample:
AND WHY AM I MR. PINK? ROSE – earning a Best Buy recommendation from Wine Enthusiast, this Washington state wine, made from 100% Sangiovese, is crisp and succulent with delectable flavors of wild huckleberry, cherry, and citrus notes finishing with a clean, refreshing zippiness to it.
THE NED SAUVIGNON BLANC – earning a score of 91 points from Wine Enthusiast (and #7 on their Best Buy list), this New Zealand Marlborough wine offering flavors of lush citrus fruit balanced by a light minerality for a crisp finish.
PEIRANO “ILLUSION” RED BLEND – the palate for this deep red blend from Lodi, CA explodes with rich mouthfilling blackberries, black currants, plums and dark fruit. The long, seductive finish is filled with hints of black licorice and has firm, round, yet supple mouthfilling tannins.
PARIS VALLEY ROAD CHARDONNAY – with grapes grown in the cool coastal climate to ensure high quality fruit that ripens slowly, this is really a blend of stainless steel fermented Chardonnay and American oak barrel aged Chardonnay blended with white Rhone varietals to give it a more complex flavor. On the palate it tastes of wet stone, citrus and green apple complimented by flavors of ripe honeydew melon and white peach.
MADDELENA MERLOT – a Paso Robles red wine that’s light-bodied and easygoing offering flavors of dried blueberry and black cherry with hints of anise, thyme and pepper on a pleasantly lingering finish. Great red wine for warm weather drinking.
