Join us this Friday and Saturday in sampling a variety of beers, liquors and wines on both evenings. We’ll start with our line-up for Friday that kicks off with COOP ALE WORKS out of Oklahoma City bringing these beers for you to taste:
F5 IPA – A straightforward malt body supports the distinctive bouquet of Columbus and Falconers Flight hops that impart citrus, grapefruit and pine notes characteristic of the West Coast style.
SPARE RIB PALE ALE – Big on late-hopped flavor, easy on bitterness, our American Pale Ale has a heaping portion of Columbus and Amarillo hops added after it leaves the brewhouse.
For the Friday evening liquor portion of our tasting, our Major Brands rep will be bringing these for you to try:
LOT 40 RYE WHISKEY – Made from a mash of 90% rye and 10% malted rye, and aged for seven to eight years, this premium Canadian whiskey offers an initial light brown sugar sweetness transitions to a dry mid-palate full of rye bread, black pepper, brine, and a mouthwatering sourness, like a deli pickle. The finish is amazingly long and savory with the numbing quality of cloves and capsaicin on top of toasted oak, rye grain, and dusty cinnamon.
KERRYGOLD IRISH CREAM – Winner of the 2016 World Drink Awards “World’s Best Cream Liqueur Award”. This delicious liqueur blends natural Irish cream, which comes from Irish grass-fed cows, with aged Irish whiskey and chocolate liqueur.
And for the wines, our rep from Glazer will be bringing these five for you to taste:
ROEDERER ESTATE BRUT – the first California sparkling wine produced by Champagne Louis Roederer, builds upon a 200-year tradition of fine winemaking that has made Roederer champagne among the most sought-after in the world. Aged from one to three years, wines from this reserve cellar are added to the blend, creating a multi-vintage cuvee in the traditional Roederer style.
LOVEBLOCK SAUVIGNON BLANC – Winemaker Kim Crawford forged this superior example of Sauvignon Blanc. It serves up a bushel of warm peach skin aromas, a nicely layered palate and a brightness of core and citrus fruit in the finish. A super classy wine with lots to like about it.
DECOY PINOT NOIR – from Duckhorn Winery, this delicious wine’s perfectly balanced acidity and well-integrated French oak underscore the bright fruit flavors of strawberry, Bing cherry and blueberry with subtle hints of mushroom, lavender, sage and white pepper.
CAIN CUVEE NV12 – the majority of the fruit in this Bordeaux-style blend is 2012 (thus NV12) Spring Mountain, Oakville, Rutherford, Yountville and Carneros grapes. This wine marries savory earth, herb and spice with ripe, juicy berry/cherry pleasures, violets, Moroccan spice, smashed Bing cherries, raspberries and cocoa powder. Great for pairing with food.
GEWURZ GEWURZTRAMINER – classic floral flavor with the light sweetness of stone fruits, pear, rose and a hint of wet stone minerality are highlighted by tropical, spice and grapefruit flavors. An excellent wine to perk up your Thanksgiving turkey.
And now for our SATURDAY TASTING line-up we’ll start off with two liquors that’ll add a little more flavor to your Holiday festivities:
360 RED DELICIOUS APPLE VODKA – with its mildly sweet flavor and juicy crispness, Red Delicious is bursting with freshly picked flavor that tastes straight from the orchard. Eco-friendly vodka that’s Six-times distilled, Six-times filtered, and Gluten-free, 360 Vodka is locally sourced and sustainably made.
KEKE BEACH KEY LIME CREAM LIQUEUR – the name says it all! Tastes just like a key lime pie with alcohol, sweet, tart and smooth. Featured in Food Network recipes by master chef Emeril Lagasse (including his Key Lime Martini recipe).
And for the Saturday wines, our rep from Trademark will be bringing these for you to sample:
TITUS SAUVIGNON BLANC – this Napa Valley wine features a bright acidity that highlights the notes of peach, pineapple, lemon, lime, night jasmine and lemon curd punctuated with apricots, nectarines, orange peel, and wet stone. Melons and stone fruit flavors add a pleasant touch to the everlasting finish.
FILUS MALBEC – with a well-deserved score of 89 from WineSpectator, this is a mild and ripe wine with sweet tannins and medium body set off by a savory edge to the ripe and well-spiced dark plum and raspberry flavors.
MACCHIA “DANGEROUS” PORT – produced from very ripe Zinfandel and Barbera clusters, these decadently sweet grapes are fermented together to produce a classic dessert wine that is so delicious, it’s Dangerous!
TREVERI SPARKLING GEWURZTRAMINER – explodes with exotic white peach, passion fruit, white rose and orange blossom aromas with a delightfully surprising blast of spice on the finish. Another excellent wine for perking up your Thanksgiving meals.
