Join us for another beat-the-heat tasting featuring light and tasty Summer beverage selections. Let’s start with the wines that our wonderful Pinnacle rep is bringing:
Château Saint Cyrgues Rose – a true French rose with aromas of strawberry, raspberry and lemon. Not overly sweet, made from 80% Syrah and 20% Grenache grapes, it’s full-flavored and fresh with a simple and elegant finish. Pairs beautifully with fish and pork dishes as well.
Secco Italian Bubbles Rose – a bright pink spumante with very fine bubbles, rich flavors of strawberry and Italian cherry with subtle biscotti and a hint of red vines and Necco Wafer. a fun Summer’s night wine.
Juan Gil Muscat – a delightfully dry Spanish wine with peach, pear, nectarine, lime and orange blossom dominating the nose and palate. Zippy acidity and a super lengthy finish make this a is fantastically food friendly wine, especially with spicy dishes.
Guigal Cotes du Rhone Rouge -With a rating of a 90 score by Robert Parker, this deep and dark red marries flavors of cherries and raspberries with hints of clove, cracked pepper, black olive and espresso. This big and bold French wine is easy on the tannins, lots of flavor but low acidity.
Gouguenheim Valle Escondido Malbec – a rich, bold and concentrated Argentinian red with ample plum, black cherry, blackcurrant, chocolate and violet notes. The finish is round, lengthy and satisfying.
Next up, we’ll be sampling two of the new flavors from Smirnoff Vodka: Sourced Grapefruit and Sourced Cranberry Apple.
The difference in these new flavors is that the Sourced line-up is made with real fruit juices to give them an incredibly refreshing and full-bodied taste. Add a little soda water and these are perfect for drinking around the pool or lake.
Next up, we’ll also be sampling beers from Columbia, Missouri brewing company Bur Oak Brewing. A really good craft beer maker that will also be at Boulevardia this weekend so you can taste even more of their selections. Friday we’ll be tasting these two:
Boone County Brown Ale – a rich brown porter style beer that is surprisingly easy to drink with a remarkably smooth finish. Leaving behind notes of dark chocolate and roasted coffee. With a full bodied caramel backdrop,
Trail Bender – blends the flavors of an American Wheat Beer with a German Kolsch ale and a light citrus flavor. The result, a light and refreshing beer, reminiscent of your favorite German lager.
