Join us this pre-Valentine’s Friday for a delicious collection of adult beverages to get your weekend started. We’ll be kicking off the tasting with BALLAST POINT BREWING CO. , the incredibly popular San Diego beer-maker, who’ll be bringing these beers for you to sample:

MANTA RAY DOUBLE IPA – earning a score of 95 points on RateBeer, this double IPA starts off with fresh, citrusy tangerine and luscious melon flavors giving way to light pine hops  that leap from the beer and linger over a smooth finish.

COMMODORE STOUT – earning a score of 94 points on RateBeer, this medium-bodied stout offers strong flavors of roast coffee and bittersweet chocolate balanced with light citrusy hop aromas.

RED VELVET CAKE NITRO – smooth as can be due to the nitro, the flavor is dominated by white chocolate with earthy notes of beets and subtle wafts of roast cocoa with  a faint roast and hop bitterness coming in at the end to balance it out and make it not cloying or overly sweet.

Boozy botanicals cardamomFor the cocktails, our rep from BOOZY BOTANICALS will be combining various liquors in with these four botanical simple syrup mixers of theirs:

ROSEMARY MINT – a delicate balance between warm and crisp, earthy honey sweetness, herbal and savory.

CARDAMOM SPICE – a curry inspired blend of 6 spices, wrapped in a bouquet of orange blossom and licorice vines.

GINGER HISBISCUS – vibrant, floral, sweet tartness and subtle ginger notes give your cocktails a refreshing lift.

THREE PEPPER – this Sweet Heat blend of Jalapeño, Anaheim and Serrano Pepper is spicy and herbaceous.

For the wines, our excellent rep from A. Bommarito will be bringing these for you to try:

RAMSAY CABERNET SAUVIGNON – with a small a bit of Petit Verdot and Merlot blended in, this full-bodied Cabernet offers tremendous flavors of cassis and dark stone fruits layered with notes of cocoa, minerals and spice.  Well-balanced tannins and acidity give this a long and smooth finish.

This rich, complex and refreshing Sauvignon Blanc will prove delightful with a wide variety of menus.

Paoletti Vineyards’ PICCOLO CRU – this refined red blend is both complex and elegant. Well integrated with black cherry, warm spice, smokey oak and supple tannins.  It’s 44% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Malbec, 18% Merlot, 8% Petite Verdot and 5% Cabernet Franc.

BERTRAND COTE DES ROSES – a blend of Grenache, Cinsault and Syrah, this French rose from the Rhone Valley is refreshing and ripe on the palate with hints of strawberry, grapefruit, cherry and chervil.

TOAD HOLLOW “RISQUE” SPARKLING WINE – Crisp and fruity with green apple and pear flavors. Medium sweet and lightly effervescent. Made from 100% Mauzac.
