Join us this first Friday of October as we celebrate the advent of Fall Holiday season with a tasting to get you in the Autumnal mood. We’ll start off the evening’s proceedings with beers from one of our hometown favorites, MARTIN CITY BREWING CO.:

THE POITIER – a Belgian-style Tripel, aged in fresh brandy barrels, this heady beer offers  malty sweetness with flavors of clove, banana, a light spiciness, subtle touches of alcohol and a smooth caramel flavor.

HARDWAY IPAAn American East Coast IPA that’s dry hopped three times to give it a complexity of strong citrus flavors with a touch of toasted malts.

BELGIAN BLONDE – light and easy-drinking blonde made with a blend of rye malt and Saaz hops to give it some spicy notes and dry hopped to give it a delicate floral and spicy aroma.

BELGIAN ABBEY ALE – a velvety and full bodied Dubbel-style ale that offers flavors of Belgian yeast spice, toffee, and nutty malts.

SIDEWAY EVERYDAY AMERICAN ALE – a new offering from them, this session ale combines delicate biscuit-like maltiness  with citrusy American hops for an easy-drinking balance

For the liquors, we’ll be hosting BLUEWATER ORGANIC DISTILLING (from the Port of Everett, Washington) who are renowned for creating their small-batch spirits from the finest organic ingredients, using traditional copper pot stills to create a level of softness and smoothness that industrial producers don’t match. They’ll be bringing these for you to sample:

HALCYON ORGANIC GIN – With a rare 5-star rating from respected critic Aaron Knoll of TheGinIsIn.com, this classic London Dry-style gin offers an aromatic profile of refined botanicals with a citrus-forward brightness in flavor.

BLUEWATER ORGANIC VODKA – The only vodka to be 100% distilled in traditional copper kettles from 100% organic ingredient, it’s bottled with minimal filtration and a zero additive commitment that gives it a silky smooth texture with clean, dry, rich flavors; lovely spice and fresh, mellow vanilla influenced style; balanced, clean and showing some pleasant heat on the finish.

And for the wines, our excellent rep from Trademark/Bronco Wines will be bringing these for you to taste:

SUMMERS ESTATE ANDRIANA’S CABERNET SAUVIGNON – this excellent cuvee contains a mix of cabernet grapes from Sonoma County, Lake County and Napa. It also includes other Bordeaux red varieties as well as tiny amounts of Syrah and Petite Sirah. Medium bodied and dusty, with dried herb tones, it’s structured, velvety and finishes on a dark chocolate note.

PACIFIC OASIS RIESLING – this Columbia Valley, Washington wine offers flavors of apricot, green apple, honey and lemon with a semi-sweet finish that can be enjoyed with food (especially spicy ones) or by itself. A great warm weather patio wine!

SIX DEGREES PINOT NOIR – starts off with raspberry and strawberry fruit combining with nuances of vanilla, toffee, and cedar, followed by mellow tannins guiding the wine toward a smooth finish.

SIX DEGREES CHARDONNAY – heady flavors of creamy oak, green apple and honey finish with a lingering softness.
