Arrojo whiteJoin us in kicking off the Memorial Day weekend with a little bit of everything tasting: wine, cider, beer and vodka. Let’s start with the wines and cider —

CVD Arrojo White – from the Douro region of Portugal, this is a great summer sipper, with aromas and flavors of tropical fruits and lime, coupled with good acidity and minerality. Aged in stainless steel vats, it’s a blend of Malvasia Fina, Rabigato and Viosinho.

Alloy Grenache Rose – medium-bodied, fresh, juicy and dryish with ample strawberry, watermelon, a bit of peach and a hint of blood orange peel. And it comes in 4-pack cans, perfect for the pool!

Lady Hill Ad Lucem – a True Northwest red blend that’s a mix of Grenache, Syrah, Mourvedre and Petite Sirah. Light, fruity, with low tannins, and easy to drink.

Laberinto Pimot Noir – from the Maule Valley region of Chile, this wine shows red fruit flavors of raspberry and strawberry with hints of eucalyptus with undertones of baking spices of clove and cinnamon coming through on the finish.

tin city ciderTin City Cider – fermented and aged in a combination of French oak, Acacia and Stainless steel barrels. It’s fermented with both wine and beer yeast. After 3 months of barrel aging, it is dry hopped with Cascade and Nelson Sauvin hops to add aromatic complexity.

Along with the wines,  we’ll be hosting Smithworks Vodka again after doing so well with their tastings before. Made with corn from Kansas, Missouri and Oklahoma and water from Lake Fort Smith. Distilled three times and charcoal filtered for a smooth taste and clean finish,  Smithworks is finished and bottled with pride in Fort Smith, Arkansas. And yes, this is the vodka company that country music superstar Blake Shelton is part owner of.

Sierra Nevada Otra Vez – On our search for the perfect warm weather beer, we wanted something light bodied and thirst quenching, yet filled with complex and interesting flavors. We stumbled across the fruit of the prickly pear cactus, native to California. This tangy fruit is a great complement to the tart and refreshing traditional gose style beer. Otra Vez combines prickly pear cactus with a hint of grapefruit for a refreshing beer that will have you calling for round after round. Otra Vez!
